It’s episode ten of AYT in Isolation and we get the feeling we’re not going to be very ‘isolated’ for much longer… Still, it’s good to see what some of the UK theatre industry’s biggest names have been up to! This week it’s the turn of theatremaker and director, Nadia Latif whose CV is making us feel immensely lazy…

Working exclusively in new writing, Nadia has worked for buildings & companies including the Almeida, Royal Shakespeare Company, National, Bush, Theatre503 and Arcola. She is currently the Genesis director at the Young Vic Theatre, and earlier this year, directed Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Pulitzer prize winning play, FAIRVIEW. Nadia also writes articles, often about the intersections of race, gender and popular culture.

A self-professed ‘plant-mother’, Nadia talks to Sarah Pumphrey about being star-struck at Sundance Film Festival; her frustration when the play, Homegrown was pulled by the National Youth Theatre; what is was like directing Fairview and her tips for juggling multiple projects (she has LOTS)
