Work With Us
A Younger Theatre is always looking for writers to contribute to our growing website. All writing roles are on a voluntary basis. AYT has historically been London-centric, but we’re actively looking for writers beyond London to expand our coverage. We are also keen to ensure that our writing team is representative of the society that we live in and so, we particularly welcome applications from people of colour, people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community.
Please note that if for any reason you are unable to send an application using the forms below, we are actively encouraging video applications too. We are expanding the company past ‘traditional’ forms of criticism but more than anything, wish to be a part of a more open society that doesn’t discriminate against those with disabilities or learning difficulties.
In your video, please state who you are, your age, what position you’d like to apply for and why you’re interested in working for us, before sending to Sam on email@example.com
Our Young Journalists scheme is designed to give young people with an active interest in arts journalism the chance to develop their interests and be published by A Younger Theatre. Working closely with the Editor, you will research, conduct interviews and write features for the AYT website.
To apply to be a features writer please download an application form and email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bloggers & Essayists
AYT seeks writers for both long-term blogs and one-off opinion pieces and essays. Working with the Editor, writers are encouraged to develop a theme through their writing, acting as opinion pieces and commentary on theatre and the arts. These are designed to encourage discussion form readers.
To apply, please download the application form here and once completed email email@example.com.
AYT actively seeks young writers to develop their critical skills through attending press nights for shows. The majority of these shows are within London, however we are actively looking for reviewers across the UK.
