Work With Us
A Younger Theatre is always looking for writers to contribute to our growing website. All writing roles are on a voluntary basis. AYT has historically been London-centric, but we’re actively looking for writers beyond London to expand our coverage. We are also keen to ensure that our writing team is representative of the society that we live in and so, we particularly welcome applications from people of colour, people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ community.
Please note that if for any reason you are unable to send an application using the forms below, we are very happy to receive video applications too. We are expanding the company past ‘traditional’ forms of criticism but more than anything, wish to be part of a more open society that doesn’t discriminate against those with disabilities or learning difficulties.
In your video, please state who you are, your age, what position you’d like to apply for and why you’re interested in working for us, before sending to Sam on sam@ayoungertheatre.com

Feature Writers
We’re actively looking for BIPOC writers to join our pool of feature writers. If you identify as a Black, Indigenous, or as a Person of Colour and love the theatre, we would love to hear from you. In return, we are offering mentorship with our new outreach officer, Lauryn, who can offer support and guidance in developing your ideas and articles, in regular meetings. You don’t have to have any experience writing to apply, just something to say!
Our features, opinion and first-person stories are a big part of what makes AYT unique. They’re a chance for people like you to express your frustrations about the theatre industry or to give advice to other young creatives. They’re also a chance for budding journalists to hone their craft by working with experienced editors, gaining invaluable advice on their work, learning interview and pitching techniques and much much more.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, then fill in these application forms (features), (opinion/ first-person) and send to Sam on sam@ayoungertheatre.com

Reviewers
We’re also on the lookout for more critics to join the writing team and specifically from areas outside of London. Because not everything happens in the big smoke, right? Do you have a passion for theatre, a keen eye for detail? Are you a bit bored of seeing the same old ‘traditional’ reviews and want to shake things up a bit?
Join our reviewing team by downloading this application form and sending to Jay on reviews@ayoungertheatre.com
