Jake and I are delighted to announce that we have appointed Laura Stevens as the new Editor of A Younger Theatre. She will be taking over from me from Monday 3rd November, and can be reached on Laura[at]ayoungertheatre[dot]com or tweeting @laurastevens22.

We had some extremely strong applications for the role, but Jake and I are in complete agreement that Laura is the right choice to lead the publication into its next phase. We are thrilled that she has accepted the job and look forward very much to working with her as AYT continues to grow. Laura helped to organise our coverage of the Brighton Fringe, and has written features for the site, too. She joins us bursting with ideas, and we’re excited to see how AYT will flourish under her editorship.

Laura says: “I am very excited to be the new Editor of A Younger Theatre! I cannot wait to continue the fantastic work of Eleanor and Jake, and keep growing the publication further. I intend to make AYT even more representative of the UK by having more nationwide reviews, features and blogs with a particular focus on regional fringe festivals. I also want to increase the use of AYT as a resource for young and emerging performers and writers, by having more careers profile pieces and a more extensive news section. I will, of course, continue AYT’s prolific social media activity, too!”

It’s been a pleasure to edit AYT for the past four-and-a-bit years, and I am confident that I am passing it into good hands. I can be found @eleanorturney if you’d like to be in touch, and I’ll be supporting Laura during a handover phase, too.

I’m so proud of all that’s been achieved so far – and thank you to everyone who has written for the site during my time as Editor – and I look forward to seeing AYT move from strength to strength with Laura.

Eleanor Turney.

P.S. If you’ve not had an invite to my leaving drinks and would like one, email me on my AYT address!
