For this episode of AYT in Isolation, we got very greedy and decided to talk to three people, cos, why not? With about a million credits between them, we give you West End stars, Helen Hobson, Norma Atallah and Harveen Mann.

Probably most well-known for playing Donna in Mamma Mia FOUR TIMES (the Prince of Wales and Novello Theatres and UK Tour), Helen has also starred in Come From Away (Phoenix Theatre), Sunny Afternoon (Hampstead Theatre) and The Sound Of Music (Regents Park Open Air Theatre), as well as in a number of screen roles. Norma has starred in Follies (The National Theatre) and the some of the world’s most beloved musicals including, Les Misérables, Cats, Chicago and Evita. She has also appeared in blockbuster films including, Beauty & The Beast and Mamma Mia! Harveen is most well known for starring in the wildly successful West End run of Bend it Like Beckham in 2015. Since then she has appeared in Peter Pan (Park Theatre), The Witches (Rose Theatre Kingston and West Yorkshire Playhouse) and School of Rock (South Korea). In 2019, she was made an associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM).

The musical trio talk to Jay (who can usually be found heading our London reviews coverage) about all things COVID, all things lockdown and all things performance. They chat about feeling knackered after moving their teaching online; typecasting and Harveen’s anger over not getting enough fair opportunities as a British Asian actor; the struggle of moving from stage to screen; their dream roles and performing for friends (Harveen will be Jay’s bridesmaid very soon).
