Karaoke
Battersea Arts Centre
29 Sep – 18 Oct | 8.30pm
Catatonically deadpan, gratuitously vapid and gleefully strung out, KARAOKE follows the critically-acclaimed AMUSEMENTS as the second in a series of performances about pleasure and boredom in the digitally driven 21st Century.
Playing out in the format of karaoke – with text and action read off a screen and projected for all the audience to see – KARAOKE is an exercise in anti-theatricality from the award-winning experimental theatre group, Sleepwalk Collective.
There will be an awkward kind of chemistry. A narcotic kind of grace. And when the chorus kicks in… we can all sing along.
