It is episode 12 of our Isolation series, where we interview big names in the UK theatre industry and today it is the turn of Mind the Gap’s (leading learning disability theatre company based in Bradford), Assistant Producer, Paul Wilshaw.
As well as his work with Mind the Gap, Paul has also worked for the Beyond festival in Leeds, which is a festival focused on artists with learning disabilities, as a performer at the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, a mentor for the Remix and an Intern Assistant Producer for the Breathe Project.
In a very inspiring interview, Paul talks to our very own Nina Cave about being furloughed from not one but two jobs; Mind the Gap being more of a big family than work environment; what he has learnt the most about producing; performing alonside Coldplay (!) and advice for people with learning disabilities wanting to get involved in the arts.
