This is an excellent chance to have your play performed at one of London’s top Off West End venues, the Finborough Theatre. Working in partnership for the second year running the Papatango New Writing Festival is looking for new plays that have yet to be discovered for their the Papatango Playwrighting Competition. Two playwrights will be given the opportunity to have their plays professional performed at the Finborough Theatre in December 2012. The winner will receive a four week run at the Finborough Theatre and have their script published by Nick Hern Books, and one runner-up will receive a three week run.
2011 saw Dawn King’s Foxfinder win the festival, which went on to score hit reviews, a sold out run and raise King’s profile as a playwright. Director of Foxfinder, Blanche McIntyre has recently won The Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer at the Critics Circle Awards.
