From the Ground Up opportunity for young performers at The Almeida Theatre

An exciting opportunity for 16-21 year olds has been announced by The Almeida Theatre for young performers to make a play from scratch to be performed at a professional venue.

The theatre is looking for a group of young people to join their From The Ground Up project from June to August. You will work alongside industry professionals from The Almeida Theatre and Joeri Smet, founding member of acclaimed Belgian theatre company, Ontroerend Goed, to create a bold new production at Shoreditch Town Hall.

From the Ground Up is open to anyone aged 16-21 even if you have never performed before. You just need to be committed to the project, with ideas to contribute, and be willing to create a unique performance together in August.

Recruitment workshops will take place in the Almeida Theatre’s Rehearsal Room, 108 Upper Street, London, N1 1TA. The first was held on Thursday 19 May but there is still one workshop available still on Tuesday 24 May, 6.30-8pm.

To apply for one of these sessions email and include the date you’d like to audition, your full name, age, and postcode.
