Mary Stuart – a new adaptation by Robert Icke

Following a critically acclaimed, sold-out season at the Almeida Theatre in 2016-17, Robert Icke’snew adaptation of Mary Stuart is now playing a strictly limited season at the Duke of York’s Theatrein London’s West End until 31 March.

Schiller’s political tragedy takes us behind the scenes of some of British history’s most crucial days. Playing both Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart, Juliet Stevenson (Hamlet) and Lia Williams (Oresteia) trade the play’s central roles, decided at each performance by the toss of a coin.


A limited number of tickets for £25 and under are reserved at every performance for people aged 25 and under. Available to purchase in person at the box office with valid age ID. Subject to availability.
