After four-and-a-half years as Editor of A Younger Theatre, I’ll be stepping down in November. I’ve been freelance for the past three years, which has made it possible to fit in my work on AYT around other commitments.
I’m delighted to say that as of Friday 3rd October, I’ll be Managing Editor of The Space, a collaboration between Arts Council England and the BBC exploring digital art. I’m extremely excited to be starting this new role, but it will mean I no longer have the time to commit to AYT.
We’ll be advertising for a new Editor soon, and I’m looking forward to passing AYT on to someone new, with their own vision for how it can develop and grow.
The team here at AYT, Jake (Artistic Director), Sam (Reviews Co-ordinator), Laura and Louise (sub-editors) are fantastic, and work incredibly hard. I’m sure that whoever takes over from me will find them as supportive and fun to work with as I have.
I’ll be sticking around on the sidelines as Consultant Editor in a voluntary capacity, ready to support the new Editor if they need any help. I’ll also continue to run Incoming Festival alongside Jake.
It’s been a pleasure and privilege to help AYT grow into the publication that it is today, and I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve all done and continue to do.
