For the second year running, A Younger Theatre is proud to be supporting TheatreCraft, the “beyond the careers fair”, as an official media partner. Now in its eighth year, TheatreCraft will be presenting workshops, discussions and hands-on experience for young people on Friday 22 November at the Royal Opera House, especially for those looking at careers beyond acting.
As part of this year’s TheatreCraft, the acclaimed theatre director Jamie Lloyd (whose recent creation of Jamie Lloyd Productions, a joint venture with the Ambassador Theatre Group, has seen hits including The Pride, The Hothouse and Macbeth) will open the conference with an opening address.
Lloyd commented that “as a director I rely upon a huge team of brilliant people who work backstage on every production. I am thrilled to support this unique free event, which will provide insight, expertise and inspiration for young people interested in those all-important behind-the-scenes roles… TheatreCraft is an absolutely essential event and I am very much looking forward to meeting some of the theatre practitioners of the future”.
At the 2012 TheatreCraft, more than 800 young people attended, enjoying a marketplace of 46 exhibitors including A Younger Theatre and other notable theatres and production companies, and theatrical suppliers. For this year’s TheatreCraft, participants can attend more than 60 workshops, including one-on-one advice with experts and professionals.
Whether you’re looking for a career in directing, stage management, costume or marketing, TheatreCraft will offer something for all. Be sure to sign up ahead of the day to ensure your place on one of the workshops and be sure to drop by the A Younger Theatre stall in the market place to meet the editorial team.
Booking essential via the TheatreCraft website.
