‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
Arts Council forms have been filled out with care,
In the hope that some funding soon would be there.

The Filskits were nestled all snug in their beds,
While dreams of projections danced in their heads.
With thoughts of devising fresh tales for new shows,
We’ll keep improvising and see where it goes!

We’ll keep watching Twitter to see what’s the matter
See what is ‘trending’ and join in the chatter.
Follow new friends and retweet the good news
(A Younger Theatre for all your reviews)

But if we should feel like we’re missing some clatter,
We’ll spring from the sofa to see what is the matter.
Away to the laptop we’ll fly like a flash,
Plug it in and give the power key a bash.

We’ll have new notifications from Arts Jobs and Ideastap,
There’ll be many an opportunity worthy an app.
If more rapid than eagles theatre festivals came,
We’ll whistle and shout and call them by name!

“Now Brighton! Now, Edinburgh! Now, Camden and Pulse!
On, Take Off! Imaginate! On Spark and Youth Arts!
To the top of the stage! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”

We’ll keep watching shows and support others’ work
Seeing it all from the weird to berserk
Festivals, scratch nights and installations
Let’s all join in the celebrations!

So onwards and upwards and on to next year
Let’s keep making theatre and bringing the cheer
Let’s keep our ambitions strong in our sight
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”
