Emma’s plays straddle a fantastical spectrum between political satire for adults and adventure comedy for children. She has written two national touring plays for Red Ladder (Forgotten Things, shortlisted for the 2009 Meyer-Whitworth Award and Ugly, published by Oberon 2010). Emma also writes site-specific plays, her most recent, Northern Big Board, was performed in a Bradford swimming pool. 2012 collaborators include: Slung Low, Chol, Ovalhouse, The Nightingale, Look Left Look Right and West Yorkshire Playhouse. She’s presently attending a Royal Court invitation group and starts her run of Freakoid a dark, queer-future, comedic one-woman show at Ovalhouse 19 Feb 2013.
