Barb is a performer and writer. For the theatre she has written for the Birmingham Stage Company's touring production of The Jungle Book, for three of Newbury Corn Exchange’s pantomimes, and for Little Angel Theatre’s The Fabulous Flutterbys. With Jonathan Cooper she has written the musical Mabel Stark: Tiger Tamer, currently in production, and with Andy Goldberg and Russell Churney The Ballad Of Norah's Ark. Wall Street Journal described her last album, a personal take on the songs of Bob Dylan, as “the most significant vocal album of the 21st century thus far”. Born and raised in Stockport and Rochdale, Barb’s latest album, Stockport to Memphis, charts both a real and symbolic journey of self-discovery for both herself and her family who escaped war-torn Europe to start a new life in the UK.
