One of the major theatre award shows of the year has taken place, and honoured the best and brightest talent of the last year.
Angela Lansbury, who won Best Supporting Actress, for her turn in Blithe Spirit, said: “Here I am creeping up to 90 and feeling like a million dollars because I am here, in this magnificent hall, and I am with all of you.
“These are my roots, where I began.”
The event was hosted by Lenny Henry, and saw a number of high profile guest presenters as well.
These included Judi Dench, Chiwetal Ejiofor and Emilia Fox.
Muscian Ray Davies was one of the big winners of the night, as he was awarded the Outstanding Achievement in Music Award and Best New Musical for Sunny Afternoon.
Mr Davies, from The Kinks, said: “It’s all the pieces being put together by a great team, a great creative team.
“Once we got over that process it was hard, it was arduous at times, touch and go, but that’s the way these things work.
“We pulled it off.”
There were a number of musical performances during the ceremony, including from Natalie Mendoza, Katie Brayben, and also Nicole Scherzinger.
The show was then closed by Kevin Spacey and Beverly Knight performing A Bridge Over Troubled Water.
