One of the largest online companies in the world has started selling theatre tickets to West End shows in London.

Amazon Local have announced that they have millions of West End seats available as part of their new venture into theatre sales.

Geraldine Wilson, the General Manager of Amazon Local, said: “Amazon Local has offered limited tickets to a handful of shows for some time now, and we noticed how much our customers love to go to the theatre.

“Amazon Local customers now have access to every ticket to all 48 shows in London’s West End.

“London’s West End is the largest theatre district in the world – welcoming in excess of 14 million guests annually – and locals and visitors flock in their droves to be entertained and enthralled.

“With 50,000 tickets every night on offer to theatre lovers, we are excited to bring some of the most loved shows to a wider audience through the Amazon customer base.”

The service will have tickets for The Book of Mormon, The Lion King, Matilda and other popular shows in the West End.

There will also be some introductory offers until April 30, including money off tickets.

Amazon Local have announced a number of new ventures in recent months, including the Amazon Home Service in the US, and investigation into a drone delivery service.

The online company has been subject to controversy too, with a boycott called of the UK branch, after it was embroiled in a tax controversy.
