London’s largest fringe festival will be making its third appearance under Waterloo station this month.
VAULT Festival is kicking off from the 27 January to 6 March and the multi-art event sees eight performance spaces created beneath the London terminal.
Festival Directors, Mat Burt, Andy George and Tim Wilson, said: “We look for such a broad range of work, it would be a disservice to the variety of the programme to say that we had a single artistic policy.
“VAULT works like a family barbecue – everyone crowds around the heat until we’re all stuffed.”
2016 will see more than 150 shows performed by 95 artists, selected from over 400 applications.
Trgyve Wakenshaw, The Misfit Analysis and Clout Theatre are amongst the many performers, shows and attractions.
Since its inception in 2012 VAULT has seen over 250 performances. For this year a spokesman for the festival said: “All of it is bigger while more effort has gone in to making the venue more of a destination for socialising as well as arts.”
Alongside the theatre shows there is the first VAULT Film Festival. Screenings will be taking place each Sunday in February.
For the younger audience members there is Mini VAULT with special child friendly programming including Big Fish Little Fish family rave.
This spring entry is free so non ticket holders can also make use of the pop up bars and restaurant.
