Tony Harrison at the London Literature Festival – Half price tickets and a prize draw!

Posted on 15 June 2012 Written by

In his 75th year, Tony Harrison gives a very special reading at the London Literature Festival in association with the Poetry Society.

7 July
7:30PM – 9:00PM
Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.

Harrison is an acclaimed playwright and poet, with a body of work that ranges from intimate sonnets depicting his working class background in Leeds, through to film, poetry, versions of Greek tragedies, and opera libretti which have been performed around the world.
Tony Harrison has received the Whitbread Poetry Prize and the European Prize for Literature among many awards, and in 1980 he won the Poetry Society’s National Poetry Competition. This event will include readings together with a look back at Tony Harrison’s singular body of work.
Our friends at the Poetry Society have a special half-price  ticket offer over on their website for tickets booked before 30 June.
They have also kindly given AYT a pair of tickets to give away: to enter, simply send an email with ‘Tony Harrison’ in the subject line to marketing@poetrysociety.org.uk by 5pm on 20 June.
