Work With Us
A Younger Theatre is always looking for writers to contribute to our growing website. All members of the AYT team write on a voluntary basis. AYT is London-centric, but we’re actively looking for writers beyond London to expand our coverage.
An opportunity has arisen to join AYT as a freelance sub-editor starting mid January, for an initial three month contract with a look to extend to six months following a probation period. A sub-editor’s role at AYT is to edit and proof read the reviews, upload reviews to the site with appropriate images and provide feedback for the reviewers.
Skill set required:
– Previous editing/subbing experience
– Organisational and time-keeping skills as this is a shared job role between two subs
– Ability to work remotely
– Excellent communication skills to relay to reviewers what was good/what can be improved about their review
– Love and knowledge of the arts
If you are interested please e-mail a covering letter (no more than one page) and CV (no more than two pages) to firstname.lastname@example.org by 19th January 2016. I will be in touch after this date to let you know the outcome of your application.
All the writers at AYT are volunteers, and the editorial team are paid a small monthly stipend. The sub-editor’s work load varies but is around 4-5 hours a week for which you will be paid £450 total for 6 months in 3 instalments.
