*UPDATE: Deadline for applications: Friday August 5th, 2016*
It’s just a week until the magic and mayhem of the Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival kick off.
Are you going to be in Edinburgh? Are you looking to develop your critical writing skills? We are on the hunt for talented writers, aged between 18-30, who want to review Edinburgh shows for us.
A Younger Theatre has supported a team of writers to cover the Edinburgh International Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival, as part of its Edinburgh Young Critics Scheme, for the past four years. We’re a little smaller scale this year as we look at what plans we can put in place for the future to create a sustainable scheme that supports young writers. But we’re keen to find a talented group of young writers who want to immerse themselves in the Edinburgh and Fringe festivals, unearth the most exciting new pieces of theatre and share their critique with our readers.
In return, we’ll support you in attaining official festival press accreditation for both festivals, ensure you have press tickets for shows you want to review, and work with you to edit and refine your work for publication.
The chosen writers will need to be able to meet daily deadlines, conduct themselves with professionalism and file multiple daily reviews. The Fringe and Festival are extremely hectic, so you’ll need to be excellent at working under pressure delivering quickly.
