The Jack Studio has launched it’s annual new writing festival Write Now 3, with a call out for writers between the ages of 16-26 for the new young persons category within the festival. Write Now 3 gives playwrights the chance to have their work presented in a weeks run at the Jack Studio Theatre, directed by a professional director and in front of a paying audience.
2011 Write Now see’s the launch of a search for a production written by new writing talent between the ages of 16-26, and a play whose playwright has written about the local areas cultural diversity, as well as a third unperformed play. Plays that are chosen will be presented at the Jack Studio Theatre in April 2012 as part of the three week festival.
The playwright or play submitted for the festival must be connected to the local area of South East London, either in subject matter, relevance, or the playwright can live, study or work in the area. If selected by the reading panel, you will find out in January, details of the winning playwrights will be announced on the Jack Studio Theatre’s website.
Deadline for submissions: 25th November 2011
