Now we know that this strictly doesn’t fall under theatre, but these days the boundaries are being blurred, and quite frankly it’s an excellent opportunity to develop your writing. (That, and our Feature Editor Laura Turner has been involved with E20 and has written an episode – AMAZING!).

The BBC have the extremely popular soap opera EastEnders, but did you know about the Award-winning online spin-off drama? It’s called EastEnder: E20 and features a whole host of young talent, including writers under the age of 23. You get training with the EastEnders Script Writers and Producers, and become part of the BBC’s E20 Writers School. Previous graduates are now completing commissions for EastEnders, Holby City, Casualty and Doctors.

BBC EastEnders are now on the hunt for more fresh writing talent – is that you? Find out how to apply below:

If you are a UK resident, aged 16-22, and would like to write for E20, you should submit a piece of fictional writing for a character that you have created. You should write either a blog post, diary extract or a monologue for that character, no longer than 400 words, and send it in by WEDNESDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2011.

You should send your entry to:

EastEnders: E20 Script Development,
BBC Elstree Centre,
Clarendon Road,

Please remember to include your name, your date of birth and your contact details (including a telephone number and an email address) on your submission.

Happy writing.
