Emerging theatre artists are being offered a chance to develop their work and to perform it as part of a Souk Festival in a new initiative from pop-up theatre company Theatre Delicatessen. SPACED 2014 will give 15 theatre makers, companies and artists the opportunity to work with Theatre Delicatessen’s creative team in its current home, the former BBC London headquarters at 35 Marylebone High Street, where the developed pieces will be performed all over the building between 18 and 22 March 2014.

Following Souk Festivals from previous years, Theatre Delicatessen is looking for work that responds to a question relating to the marketplace, transaction, commerce and art. This year’s question is “is it worth it?”. The company is looking to host a variety of performances styles form site-specific to physical theatre, from installation to text, aiming to create a marketplace of immersive performance where the audience decide how much to pay.

Applications are open until 17 January. The 15 successful applicants will be given a studio space to develop their pieces in Theatre Delicatessen’s creative hub from 3 February onwards.
